Dutch-New York artist Vivienne Aerts brings her new project Current to one of the America's most iconic historic ships. Set against the harbor and the atmosphere of the vessel itself, this special event invites audiences into a sound world shaped by water, movement, memory, and place.

The concert features songs from Aerts’s new album Current, a project recorded aboard her own 1951 Dutch mahogany sailboat, De Vouw, while traveling through the waterways of the Netherlands. Blending vocals, keys, electronics, and field recordings of creaking wood, rippling water, passing locks, wind, and birds, Aerts creates music that feels intimate, cinematic, and deeply alive. Moving between atmospheric song, improvisational texture, and subtle electronics, her sound may resonate with listeners of artists like Norah Jones and James Blake, while remaining distinctly her own.

For this special performance aboard USS Constellation, these songs return to the water. The evening will feature live music, atmospheric electronics, and, pending final setup, visual projections that respond to the ship and its surroundings. A pre-concert tour of the vessel may also be part of the experience, allowing audiences to encounter the ship not only as a historic site, but as an active setting for contemporary artistic exchange.
